Women's Tennis

In 2011, the generosity of TAF donors provided funding for the LSU tennis complex.  The facility greatly contributed to overall productivity of the LSU women's tennis program ensuring more efficient practice time.  This allows student-athletes to have more time to be students first.

Joana Valle Costa

LSU Women's Tennis (2014-2017)

Joana Valle Costa was a standout at LSU from 2014-2017 and lettered all four years.  She earned numerous All-SEC honors and was named to the 2017 SEC Community Service Team.  During her senior year she earned her third straight bid for the NCAA Singles Championships where she became the first Tiger since 2009 to advance to the round of 1.  She finished the dual season with a 17-7 singles record as the No. 44-ranked player in the country and finished the season as the No. 16-ranked doubles team along with partner Ryann Foster.  Valle Costa and Foster became the first LSU doubles pairing since 2009 to qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championships and the first pairing in program history to reach the NCAA doubles semifinals.
