“You don’t realize it until you are removed from it a few years, but when I look back at my years as an LSU student-athlete, playing baseball in the College World Series for legendary Coach Skip Bertman, I realize what a unique gift and competitive advantage that was for me in my career and in my life. It was there that he instilled in me the phrase 'If it is to be, it is up to me' which has been my code of personal responsibility since.
