Priority Points Policy

TAF Priority Point Changes for 2017

TAF is proud to announce the following changes to TAF’s Priority Point System effective January 1, 2017:

Priority points for qualifying philanthropic donations to the LSU Alumni Association and the LSU Foundation are being increased from ¼ point per one thousand dollars donated, to 1 point per one thousand dollars donated. Qualifying gifts are those made via cash, check, credit card, payroll deductions and marketable securities. In-kind gifts of goods or services, grants and qualified corporate sponsorship payments do not qualify for priority point credit.

Five priority points will be awarded to donors making a properly documented planned gift valued at $10,000 or more to the Tiger Athletic Foundation, the LSU Alumni Association or the LSU Foundation on or after January 1, 2017. Qualifying gifts may be either revocable or irrevocable. This is a one-time award, meaning that donors may qualify for only one award regardless of the number of planned gifts made. Generally speaking, proper documentation should consist of a fully executed Estate Intention Letter and an excerpt from the Donor’s will, trust or similar gift instrument verifying the intent to give and gift terms. Should a planned gift be revoked or should the actual amount received from the gift be less than $10,000, priority points awarded based on the gift will be revoked.

TAF is also working with the LSU Health Sciences Center Foundation in New Orleans and the LSU Health Sciences Foundation in Shreveport to provide priority point credit for donations made to these LSU affiliated organizations effective January 1, 2017.

The LSU Priority Point System is a system developed and used by TAF and LSU to allocate certain tickets and parking passes based on giving to TAF  and other LSU Affiliate Organizations- the LSU Foundation and the LSU Alumni Association).

Ways that the Priority Point system is used

Season Ticket Assignments and Upgrades

Using the philanthropic ranking, TAF reviews all requests in rank order from applicants requesting new season tickets and/or an upgrade of their current season tickets.  After all requests for new season tickets and upgrades upgrades have been reviewed, requests for new season tickets are filled according to philanthropic rank of April 30th of the given year.

Parking Pass Assignments

Using the Philanthropic ranking, TAF and LSU review all requests in rank order from applicants requesting a new parking permit and/or an upgrade of their current parking permit(s).   After all requests for new parking permits and upgrades have been reviewed, requests are filled utilizing the philanthropic rank of April 30th of the given year.  Applicants must purchase season tickets to be eligible for a parking pass.

Away Games, Postseason Games, & Bowl Game Ticket Assignments

TAF uses the lifetime rank in the assignment of all away game, SEC postseason game, and bowl game tickets.  Applicants are put in rank order and then tickets are assigned.  Where demand for tickets exceeds the available supply, the number of tickets that may be purchased by applicants will be limited.
