Mission of Tiger Athletic Foundation

History of Tiger Athletic Foundation

In 1978, the Varsity Club was formed as a division within the LSU Athletic Department to assist in raising private funds to support the LSU Athletic Program.  The Varsity Club was then replaced by Tigers Unlimited, a Louisiana nonprofit corporation, in 1983 and Tigers Unlimited was granted 501(c)3 status in 1984.  Tigers Unlimited reorganized and amended its Articles of Incorporation to formally change its name to Tiger Athletic Foundation in 1987.

Mission of Tiger Athletic Foundation

Over the past 29 years, Tiger Athletic Foundation's members have enhanced the lives of every student-athlete on every team by providing financial support for programs and facilities that ensure the opportunity to win in the classroom, on the field, and in life.  We do this in variety of ways.

  • Scholarships - Making a lasting impact on the education of student-athletes through Scholarship programs.
  • Philanthropic Programs - Define the future of LSU Athletics through projects that sustain the tradition of a superior athletic program.
  • Team TAF - Support the 21 varsity sports of the LSU Athletic Program through TAF's annual fund.
  • Planned Giving - A planned gift to TAF provides future student-athletes with the opportunity to become champions and legends. It promises that a donor's passion for LSU Athletics is impactful, remembered, and revered beyond their lifetime.
